Im at work now on my WIIDE screen tft monitor! I notice that the background images doesnt go as wide (1680 x 1050) so the borders are quite abrupt. I doubt you would want to make your background image any bigger so maybe get the edges blended to white? or some kind of border? Alot of people have widescreens nowadays so it was just a suggestion :) |

JubeiSaotome Posts count: 3 | having a massive image as the website's background image is a really stupid idea. It lags the crap out of my browser, especailly when scrolling. Also, why is there no forum link in navigation? Or why do I have to click a tab to get to it? |

If your thinking its a stupid idea because you say its "lagging" your browser then you have some serious browser problems! I look at the mem usage on this site and its about 32k. I look at ART's site (another Rag2 fansite) and its about 30k... but looks terrible. Now look at www.worldofwarcraft.com.. thats over 40k !! Using firefox of course! if your lagging because 2k then I'd suggest running an anti-spyware program or something, or stop using IE (if your using that) Really a sites weight can go upto 50k before you should suffer ANY kind of performance issues! As for your complaint about having to click on a tab.. I dont really see the issue, use bookmarks :S |

JubeiSaotome Posts count: 3 | I have a pretty up to date computer and I keep it really clean. I'm also a final year multimedia student, so I'm used to finding flaws in site design. Anyway, maybe it's the code you have on the interface? It's not so much lag, it just scrolls down the page as if it's at a lower frame rate. The WoW and RO2 official sites don't have this problem and they're rich in content. Designing based around how you experience a site is poor design skills. User testing is a great way to hone your skills and make everything run properly. |

I love the way the background image stays the same no matter how far you scroll, rather than scrolling over tiles of the background image. All im saying with the comparisons is that the background image ISNT big!.. if there is a problem then I highly doubt its related the background image. In anycase, your the first person I know who has reported this 'lag'.. Are you using Firefox? |

I've tested it in firefox for linux, firefox for windows, konqueror and opera and had no problem... JubeiSaotome, what browser (and which version) are you using? |

I like the design of this page. The background is cool too. And I don't have any loading problems. =) |
