    Swordsman and Stats?
snowman avatar Posts count: 159 Well, I thought I'd get the ball rolling in here!

I plan to be a Swordsman! so I was wondering what stats I would be chosing!

In RO1 I think it was a very simple formula of 2 str per 1 dex ! - but the stats now look a bit more complex than that.

    * STR, or Strength, contributes to melee physical damage and minimum ranged physical damage. It increases the max HP, fatigue, and weight limits. It also reduces after-cast spell time when repeating the same spell.

    * DEX, or Dexterity, contributes to melee physical hit rate and minimum physical damage as well as ranged physical damage. It also reduces casting time for spells.

    * INT, or Intelligence, contributes to ranged physical critical rate and an increase in the max SP limit. It also reduces after-cast time for physical skills when repeating the same skill.

    * WIS, or Wisdom, contributes to melee and ranged physical attack speed. It increases the hit rate of spells and increased minimum spell damage.

    * CON, or Concentration, contributes to melee physical and magic critical rate. It also increases ranged physical hit rate and spell dodge rate.

So I think STR and DEX are still very important, but WIS and CON also look like very good possabilities!

    Any advice ?

    Thanks.

Gai-Daigoji avatar Posts count: 25 well obviously str will probably be most important stat. and then you'll need just enough dex to hit consistantly. then wis will act like agi in ro1. and con will act like luck in ro1. if you wanted to sacrifice some str for wis or con that would be your choice, though you should probably only do one or the other since lossing to much str would make you pretty crappy compared to high str swordsmen. str raises your HP so if you plan to do heavy tanking, stick to all str. if you'ld rather do more damage you could add wis or con but it'd be at the cost of sacrificing your tanking ability a bit. so it's just a matter of preference. it'd be like building an agi (wis) knight or crit (con) knight in ro1. i guess we'll have to test them to see how effective these builds will be.

snowman avatar Posts count: 159 According to people who played CB3 Enchanter was by far the most popular class!

might be worth picking a more rare class like a theif or clown :D

I will be a swordsman but I would love to try a gun toting class ;)

Well I notice a seperate group of stats below the attributes which relate to 'defence' and 'evasion'

I really dont know how powerfull these are but alot of the equips and buff potions effect them!

For now I am putting all my attribute points (whic so far is 3 per level) into 2 STR, 1 DEX.

Just to see how it plays out really! Im also being biasd toward STR and DEX for equips..

A NICE function on RO2 (im not sure if RO1 was the same) but you can see your 'Un-buffed' attribute points when distributing stats. This saves getting naked to see what your stats really are :D

I've not really noted how much STR and DEX are effecting my hits just yet.

I will maybe make a PURE STR and a PURE DEX character to actually see the difference :D

Anyone else have any observations on these yet?
