Lets not forget that Janus was the first to decrypt the client, packets, and have a working login/gateway/world servers. Saga and Janus are comparable projects coded in different languages. We actually work together on some things behind the scenes. If you like C# look at saga, if you like C++ look at Janus. Janus has better multiple operating system support due to C++ over C#. Janus uses mysql databases and Saga uses xml databases... it's more in what you like.

Maybe Janus was the first, but saga is has always been the most developed because C# is aimed for RAD (Rapid Application Development) because a lot of things are really easy for us to do. And the language you choose doesn't say 'it's better at multi systems', it's upon the programmers. Once we decide to go that way we can have a n-tier system also.

Either it's up to the users to decide what they prefer but don't spread lies red ;]

Oh and we also use mysql...

It's true we do use xml, but not for everything.

Important data such as character data (e.d. global data) goes into DBMS system of choise for us we prefer mysql.

Non important data e.d. mainly local data goes as seperate files on the server data directory.

And Umika, saga preview is of the saga legacy code. The saga i'm talking about is upcoming and partly showh to reddozen, as he stated earlier behind the scenes we collaberate.
