All I needed to do was go to my System Properties, then go into Advanced, then Performance Options, and then Data Execution Prevention, and then select to Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only. I tried to do the other "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select, and yes I selected Ragnarok Online 2 and it didn't work, so the first option was the only one that did out of the 2 options available. Hope this helps, cuz it helped me, and if your using Windows Vista I don't know if its the same steps to access your DEP like it is for me on my Windows XP Professional, so good luck.

Kich867 Posts count: 25 That option is on by default, and did not do anything =/ And to avoid repeats: I am running the direct EXE from the folder, I have run a full file check 7 times as of right now. I don't see how this can be a problem with shortcuts when I'm not using one.

Kich867 Posts count: 25 The problem here is RagII.exe, no matter how many times I do a file-check it says it redownloads that. I may just start from extreme scratch, it may have gotten messed up when patching or something.

EDIT: I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game and this exact issue is still occurring. I re-updated the entire patch, full-file-checked again, and voila ragII.exe had to be updated, running it more times provides the same issue.

DiSeMbYeR Posts count: 135 well u can try downloading my patcher at http://www.mediafire.com/?mvxia1xwjst and i suggest for your first attempt is to drag all the files except for the files that are already in my patcher into the patcher folder, so for example don't copy over the Rag2SelfPatch, Ragnarok2, patchw32.dll, and patchw.dll, but put everything else in it and try that, if it doesn't work then do a full file check with mine after deleting everything but the files that were already in the folder "Rag2SelfPatch, Ragnarok2, patchw32.dll, and patchw.dll", but you don't have to, im just suggesting, and if none of that works then well, sorry, im sure someone will figure out the answer.

*stands, takes a deep breath, smashes head into desk*

I paraphrase, "If you're using AVG, just closing it will not work. The most common errors are code=2 and code=5. What sucks is that the solution is very simple and after many hours of trying to fix it you may very well feel stupid."

Long story short: I use AVG.

    Here's the fix guys, http://pukui.wordpress.com/2008/05/25/errors/

VICTORY IS MINE! (and the guy that figured that out!)

*EDIT* I am currently getting into RO2 and exiting and getting back into it out of spite for this evil, evil ordeal I went through hahahaha. Yay! *hops up and down*
